Processing time and validity period of an electronic visa
The processing time may take up to 5 business days. That is why a Vietnam visa application must be submitted at least 5 days in advance of the planned date of arrival in the country.
Please note that the exact waiting time is at the total discretion of the Vietnamese authorities, which must approve your visa application. Applicants can also choose the option of paying an additional fee to expedite the process and receive the Vietnam eVisa within several hours.
Once approved, your Vietnam tourist visa will remain valid for 30 days. Its validity starts to be counted on the day prior to the intended date of your entry to Vietnam.
You must leave Vietnam before your visa expires! Do remember to enter the correct intended arrival date when filling out an online application form to ensure the proper validity of your visa.
Please also note that you may extend your Vietnam visa, but it requires covering an additional fee. For this purpose, you should directly contact the local Immigration Department Office.
